August 18, 2016 – Asbury Park Press:
There’s a line around the block to get into the Osprey night club on a recent Friday night.
But that’s not unusual.
“The Osprey is known as the Jersey Shore’s favorite place to party,” said club owner Diane Marcks. “That’s like our thing.”
July 5th, 2013 – NJ.com: Three days after Hurricane Sandy, Manasquan police permitted Diane Marcks to visit the Osprey.
Marcks, who has owned the nightspot for 21 years, said the doors were blown in and the dance floor was strewn with seaweed. Appliances had been upended and shelves were askew.
“Everything came tumbling down,” said Marcks. “I felt overwhelmed, but I just did what I could to secure the building and when they let us back into town, I put on my boots and started cleaning up.”
Marcks said she was determined to reopen the Osprey for its 67th summer, and gave herself a May 18 deadline.
